The leaders in the Senate
and the House of Reps have failed
to get their money package
by their colleagues shut and nailed.
Up for re-election,
most politicos are shy
of making any wavelets
or the thought of "Wolf!" to cry.
Paulson and his cronies
better have another ace --
maybe they can rob us
after spraying us with Mace.
Once in a blue moon our congress
pauses to give thought,
instead of giving in to
plans the lobbyists have bought.
