If you can wait long enough, the stuff up in your attic
Becomes a treasure trove to some old, rich, long-haired fanatic.
Those vinyl records that went out with bell bottoms and Twiggy
Are considered cool again (as Seinfeld said, they're "jiggy".)
Conspicuous consumption was the watchword of the day
Back when ev'rybody drove a shiny Chevrolet.
Even beggars on the street wore 3-piece suits – it's true!
We would buy most anything, while sipping Mountain Dew.
Twas a rich and heady time; those LP's do remind us
Of a materialistic world we have left behind us.
If only Tony Bennett on a 33 r.p.m.
Could bring back some prosperity on its whirling dervish hem!
