The cyber wars are heating up – a true sci fi vignette.
Instead of bombs and soldiers it is done by Internet.
Nobody has to know that war has been declared at all;
Just get some hackers to climb over someone's firewall.
Nuclear reactors can be silenced, maybe blown;
Casualties can mount as your own foe remains unknown.
Armies soon will be deployed on picnics, not in battle,
While their leaders are reduced to incoherent prattle.
Life and death, redemption, are confined to figurines
On our Argus-eyed, unsleeping, cruel computer screens.
