Have you tasted fly ash
in your scrambled eggs today?
Unregulated fly ash
is in everything to stay.
Heavy metals cause you
to spit blood and lose your hair
but coal plants have good reason
to ignore the public glare.
Their smokestacks are much cleaner
than they were in the dark past
and native coal will be here
while the foreign oil won't last.
So give three cheers for coal ash
and the arsenic it contains;
next Christmas we will have it
wrapped around our candy canes.
