Nothing makes me go whole-hog
better than seed catalogue.
When I get one in the mail
winter soon begins to fail.
I get positively chirpy
when I hear from Mr. Burpee.
Carrots, peas, and Brussel sprout,
luscious photos gaily tout.
Maybe this spring I will try
a patch of oyster salsify.
Already I have plumb forgot
the bugs and weeds I vainly fought
during last year's growing season
which was pretty much the reason
I swore off all garden folly.
Now I'm back, in spades, by golly!
