Ketchup is a symbol
of our culinary art;
there is hardly one good meal
without it you can start.
Tomatoes, salt, and vinegar,
with sugar for good measure --
mix it all together;
it is Uncle Sam's sweet treasure.
Who could chew a hamburger
without it and a pickle?
Refusing French fries that had none
is not considered fickle.
Serving up a meatloaf
without some right on the side
would be like getting married
when there isn't any bride.
We put it in our chili sauce
and no hotdog existing
would advertise its presence
without ketchup's tangy listing.
You can have your salsa
and your fish sauce by the bottle.
Ketchup is the only thing
that makes a meal full-throttle!
