THE CAUCUS
Once in every four years down in
A ghastly creature rears its head and all good Christians pray.
The creature is unholy and is surely meant to mock us.
They do not say its name out loud – but whisper it:
'The Caucus'.
Ravening the Caucus stalks from
Giving old folks heart attacks and making children puke.
Stealth is not its calling card. Its growls are very raucous.
It shows no mercy as it prowls – that salivating Caucus!
Gathering a helpless crowd in every town and precinct
It destroys all reason before any eye can be winked.
They've tried to put it down before but when the time is ripe
It comes back resurrected from the tons of media hype.
Our heartless nation watches as the Caucus grimly rambles
Across the fields of
When satisfied that anarchy in
The fiend invades another state . . .
