Our government is schizophrenic, most of us agree;
The right hand may save forests while the left chops down a tree.
The smoking of tobacco is unhealthy, by decree;
But sev'ral states down south do grow it with a subsidy.
Uncle Sam has sworn to fight childhood obesity
While handing out more cheese and milk
Than curries do have ghee.
And so I wonder if we have a true democracy
Or a government that just is ripe hypocrisy?
